If you are employed and you are expecting to get your year-end bonus in the next few days, there are some tools that help you calculate the amount and know your rights as well.
First of all, to ensure that all wage-earners get their bonus before December 20th, when the deadline expires, the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MTSS in Spanish) will make available for them an app called “Trabajo CR”.
This tool includes a calculator for your bonus, information about minimum wages, the location of the offices for complaints and the contact of the institution. “Trabajo CR” is available for Android and iPhone, in each of their stores.
The calculator will also be available to download from the website www.mtss.go.cr, along with the phone number 800 – TRABAJO (800 – 872 2256) and the Facebook page Trabajo CR, through them the aim is to ensure that the salaried people get their bonus according to the labor law, both the correct amount and in the term provided by law.
Offices and informative spaces available to the workers
In addition to the digital resources and the phone line, the MTSS will install informative spaces during different dates and through out the whole country. In the case of Grecia, the nearest orientation establishment is at the Central Park in Alajuela, which will run starting on December 17th.
To deal with the complaints about this labor right, the MTSS offices schedule in Heredia, Cartago, Alajuela, Puntarenas, Liberia, Limón, Pérez Zeledón, San Ramón and San José will be as usual from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, during December 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 28th and 29th.
The phone number of the office located in the province of Alajuela is 2441-1158.
